The Northampton, Massachusetts police department thought they’d initiated a terrific program in December. ‘High Five Fridays’ were started to build trust and relationships between students and police officers. It was going great and kids did not need to participate if they were uncomfortable.
The outreach effort was discontinued when a handful of parents complained.
Here, the police chief is trying to explain the benefits while an astounded and perplexed board member looks on.
Maybe these parents would be welcomed in Cuba.
