A very young cowboy had a chat with an old friend. He’s a skinny as a rail…active like a twelve year old…lucky to still be with us tennis coach. His name is brought up every week in my lessons with the footnote that he has more talent in his little finger than I possess in total.
This guy can play. The real deal.
Incredible!
While teaching recently, he felt a vise like tightening in his jaws. Stopping his lesson, he apologized but continued once the pain subsided.
Bingo.
The vise even more intense. A Von Miller handshake.
This time, the student said, ‘this is not right, I’m going to call my wife who is a doctor.’
The pro eventually found himself in the hospital undergoing a multitude of tests.
Nothing.
Round two. This battery of exams showed an increase in a chemical which indicated a possible heart attack.
Bottom line. Two stents place in ninety and eighty per cent blocked arteries.
Whew!
His advice is clear. Denial is not a river in Egypt. If you feel any first ever…strangely uncomfortable…feeling, go get it checked. Watch what you eat. Just because it looks good, doesn’t mean it is.
‘Does this mean an end to cheeseburgers and fries,’ I asked.
‘I may cheat one or twice a year but this is a lesson that I won’t forget.’
