On this anniversary of 9/11, we remember the victims, their families and friends, and the gallant and selfless efforts of so many first responders.
It makes me think of a term heard from golf telecasts from across the pond.
When a golfer has a challenging shot from behind the trees, the announcer often says she is in “a spot of bother”.
A spot of bother might aptly describe most of the hurdles we face each day when compared to what innocent people faced on that fateful day in 2001.
Maybe our use of this phrase in describing our challenges would lessen the gravity of them and communicate to our souls that we are far bigger than the stuff that gets in our way.
”How’s your day?”
”Oh, I’m in a spot of bother and thankfully have the tools to rise above it”.
