Tommy’s first Thanksgiving was a bit unnerving. So many people in his house…..so much chatter…..and laughing…..and drinking what looked like Kool-Aid for grownups. Different smells coming from the kitchen and the most humongous bird he’d ever seen was actually shoved into the oven. He was too young to choose between drum stick or white meat and….truth be told…..thought it to be animal cruelty to put this unsuspecting bird through such torture. Mashed potatoes and applesauce would have to do this year. And next year, young Tommy will remember to ask what made uncle Henry pass out while watching his beloved Eagles get whipped by The Lions.
