Lexie

By Mike Hall, March 26, 2016

Sally has been married for 35 years…..a mother for 28…….and a nurse for 15.

Yesterday, the very young patient asked if Nurse Sally would bring over a pain pill from the kitchen.

“Sure,” she said “be there in a minute.” A few minutes later the patient asked again. “Oooops, I’ll be right there.

I know it’s here somewhere….just got it out of the bottle. Hmmmm…where in the world? I was just getting the dog’s pills too and now cannot find yours.

Seconds later, Sally’s at my side beginning to laugh……she’s holding a piece of tinfoil with peanut butter smothering a small object.

Here’s your pill…..I guess I mistakenly tried to give it to Lexi…….I swear she only sniffed it.

We laughed till we nearly cried.

Lord, give us this day our daily miracle.

Forgive us if we let it slip by unrecognized because we’re too busy….too bothered……or too inattentive.

Thanks Lord for the miracle of Sally and the laughter she brings to my world.

Have a splendiferous day!
