Skiers are chomping at the bit as the high country begins getting some sizable snowfall. Our neighbors must have left nearly fifty trash bags of leaves at the curb in the past three weeks. Yes, these leaves can be a hassle unless you’re just out for a stroll on a magnificent autumn afternoon.

It’s all good. Even though most Denver Broncos fans realize that the guys in orange and blue are not worth watching this season, it’s not the end of the world. At least we have these incredible orange sunsets that soften the blow of such lackluster play.

Kudos to my wife. With Thanksgiving approaching, it’s very commendable that she would agree to have my first wife attend our ‘turkey day’ celebration. Marge really had no other options this year. A chain smoker since her teens, she has agreed to light up only on the back patio.

All around the country there were memorable tributes to our veterans this weekend in honor of Veteran’s Day. For a look at the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women, I highly recommend George W. Bush’s recent book Portraits of Courage. The former president is quite an artist with the highest regard for our veterans.
