It has been 161 days and my wife may be the happiest of all. No longer do golf balls litter the den or master bedroom. Putters are hidden in the garage and basement. For me, I am so much happier too. Day by day, the TBS that used to be so controlling is losing its grip. You probably thought TBS was a cable TV channel and it is. For golfers who obsess about their score and making every three foot putt, TBS stands for Tangled Brain Syndrome. Treatments vary for this malady and the most severe is electro shock therapy. Other less abusive cures include only playing giggle golf at miniature courses and devoting time to photography and reading. Once the tangled brain begins to operate more efficiently, it becomes clear that score and knee knocking putts are a 2 on a 10 scale for importance. They don’t matter in the bigger scheme of things and there is a lot to be said for giggle golf. And, the house is much tidier without those Titleist’s in every room.
