“There is a mysterious choreography/synchronicity at work in our lives”.
Twenty-five years ago, I met a wonderful woman in Chicago who was/is a terrific author and public speaker/trainer.
We spoke later that year and she said she was going to be one of the featured speakers at a national speakers conference in California.
I was asked if I’d like to write a poem about public speaking.
I did, she read it at the conference, and posted it online.
A speaker on The Gold Coast read the poem online, like it, and we became long distance email and phone friends.
In our fourth year of friendship, she invited our family of three to spend twelve days with her and her husband down under.
Long story short, she had a dinner party for friends and asked everyone to say one thing they were most grateful for.
Cheryl went last and said that she was having a very rough time a few months ago and came to the end of her rope. She had purchased the materials to end her life.
Near midnight she received an email from her friend in Colorado. He’d written a poem to boost her spirits and she decided that she would forego her plans and chart a new course.
Yes indeed, there is a mysterious choreography/synchronicity at work in our lives.
****. The line that started and ended this morsel is taken from the terrific book Theo of Golden by Allen Levi. I took the liberty of adding the word synchronicity.
