Perspective

Hank Davies was nearing the end of his life and relatives had been called to come and say a final goodbye.  His eldest son, David, asked if there was anything on his bucket list that he would have liked to do but didn’t.  Hank said that he wished that he’d taken a hot air balloon ride over Lake Tahoe.  He said that he always thought that passengers in these balloons must have a unique perspective on life.

High above all of the hecticity of the world……they must feel a tremendous sense of calm with all cares set aside for those precious hours suspended above the earth.  The day before he died, Hank asked David if he would fulfill this dream once he had passed.

David promised that he would and it was a transformative experience. It opened his eyes to not only the beauty of the lake but the serenity that is available to everyone if they take time away from the rapidly spinning world below.
