It occurred to a very young cowboy whilst in the shower today, that The Creator has given birds an incredible gift…the ability to sing to their heart’s content.
The thought spurred me to consider how us humans would use this same gift had it been presented to us.
Then it hit me.
We do have this ability but seldom, if ever, use it.
So, I’ve picked a song (actually, a few) and now sing it in a soft whisper while eschewing the mental bubble gum of the radio.
Let me be clear…I whisper because melodic song is not my strong suit.
However, the words are calming, reassuring, and put the mind in a wonderful place.
‘When peace like a river…attendeth my way
when sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot…Thou hast taught me to sing
It is well, it is well with my soul.’
These words were penned over 150 years ago by Horatio Spafford. If you want to read his incredible story, just google his name.
