Destiny

When Abby started playing softball at ten, her face lit up every game day morning…one more chance to enter the circle and dazzle opposing hitters.

She was gifted with a live arm and by the age of fifteen her parents began imagining a possible college career.

At sixteen, after being driven from the circle in consecutive games, the once exuberant girl asked her coach if she could play the outfield for the upcoming playoffs.

College softball was the furthest thing from her mind.

Abby graduated in 2006, entered nursing school and volunteered at Children’s Hospital.

The girl with the live arm also had a heart of gold and loved caring for kids who’d never play competitive sports and many who couldn’t skateboard or ride a bike.

Abby’s decision to leave one circle behind in favor of forming circles of love with caring families has worked out just fine.

Her fellow nurses often say her face lights up every time Abby enters the hospital.
