Grace loves life on her family’s farm. Her friends are few unless you count the chickens, roosters, cows, and horses that she spends time with each day. Allie is, by far, her favorite friend. Her parents watch in wonder as the horse and their daughter seem to share secrets at the fence near the south pasture. In a few years, Grace will sit atop Allie as the two take long rides on summer mornings. Some say that dogs are man’s best friend. It’s hard to argue that horses hold a special place in the hearts of little girls and boys.
