You know it’s been a slow season for The Broncos when their infrequent post touchdown celebrations are the only part of the game that has entertainment value.
Now that the search is on for a coach who demands excellence, maybe they can rework the quarterback contract as well.
The current QB was awarded $36 million for two years with $7 million guaranteed in year 2.
I am no math wizard but this year …. in winning six games, they paid the signal caller $3 million per game.
How about a performance based adjustment for 2019?
The quarterback pays back $3 million dollars for each game less than 10 victories. So, if the Broncos improve to 8-8, they are due $6 million from the guy who was supposed to energize the offense. A .500 season next year will take a huge improvement in all phases of the game.
I mean wouldn’t you think 10 wins would be indicative of what a very good QB could deliver?
Trust me, 8-8 will not cut it next year in Bronco country. You know as well as I do that Trevor Siemien could return and probably win 6-8 games.
In your heart of hearts, do you think Keenum at $18 million is the guy to drive the team to a double digit win season?
I mean there were 4 quarterbacks competing in college bowl games last week that would be preferable to ‘our guy.’
And one was a freshman who will be playing for Clemson in the national title game.
