I chose to play eighteen holes of golf yesterday and, from what my wife says, it was a good day to pass on the Bronco game.
After a quick dinner a haircut was needed so it was off to Great Clips. Tanya greeted me and said the wait would be no more than five to ten minutes. Soon she called my name and I told her to cut it a bit shorter this time. She was five minutes into the haircut when she felt something behind my ear. Carefully, she pulled it out and…..sure enough……it was a golf tee that I’d placed there for good luck after my best drive of the day. It was a habit I had picked up as a young junior player and it has stayed with me for decades.
Tanya and I had a great conversation and I told her about the new restaurant in Southglenn called Tom and Chee. They specialize in, believe it or not, grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. If you haven’t tried it, put it on your list. She finished and took a mirror behind me so I could examine her work. It looked great and I told her so.
I reached forward and grabbed my glasses from the small table in front of the mirror. As I slipped my glasses on, Tanya slowly put the golf tee behind my right ear. Quite a character, this Tanya.
