Junk Yard Dogs

At first, players didn’t quite know how to react when, after a great hustle play on the tennis court, I’d refer to them as a junk yard dog.

Hey…in my mind, it’s about the best compliment a player can receive.

It brings to mind other never give up competitors like Jimmy Connors, Rafa Nadal, Chris Evert, Ash Barty, Arantxa Sanchez Vicario, and Michael Chang.

These players, and many more, left every ounce of themselves on the court and were kindred spirits to Joltin Joe Frazier….a boxer unmatched in his relentless spirit in his sport.

Let’s not forget David Ferrer and Alex de Minaur…Novak, Roger, Andy, and Carlos …all of whom would be honored with the junk yard dog label.
