The plea

By Mike Hall, December 10, 2019

It’s different from a knife in some ways but cuts just the same.

I’ve tried to wrap my head around the ‘why me’ and the ‘when will this torture end’ but am drawing a blank.

Middle school, for me, is like a war zone.

I’m like a soldier always on the lookout…a state of alarm coursing through my body, praying that I can make it to and through another Friday.

It’s relentless and I don’t see myself making it to high school.

How I envy those kids who are home schooled. I hope they realize how fortunate they are…while I tiptoe, head down through the war zone each day.

Will someone see me?

Help me…before it’s too late?
