Thunder & Lightning

“It is not light that we need but fire;  it is not the gentle shower, but thunder.  We need the storm, the whirlwind, and the earthquake.

Frederick Dougles

Madison and a very young cowboy were amazed this summer.  One of the sudden storms swept over the mountains west of Denver and in minutes lighting was crackling all around.  A men’s doubles league was just starting their match and we called them off the court for shelter.  Two teams heeded the advice and four others continued playing.  Madison finally blew a whistle as it became increasingly dangerous.  The men (fools) still played on.  A second whistle and they reluctantly exited the court.  Surely, storms and earthquakes are a call to action…….wise are they that read the signs and change course.
