You go, Tim Engels

I had an enlightening conversation with a great friend Tim Engels this week.

When asked about the condition of his golf game, Tim said he shot a 71 recently. My wife wondered if that was for the front nine.

That is quite a remarkable round given that Tim is seventy-three years young.

I read an article online today that posited that The LIV golf tour promoted by the uber rich Saudis will be starting a senior version in 2023.

You may have heard that their main tour group has promised top players 50-200 million dollars guaranteed to forfeit their moral compass and defect from the PGA Tour.  I personally hope this misadventure flops and folds like the old arena football leagues. It’s basically hit and giggle golf for mercenaries who now disdain real competition where money is actually earned. It is a festive atmosphere I understand with loud music heard around the course.

Oh, but I digress.

The report is that the new senior tour is poised to offer Tim Engels a five million dollar guarantee very soon. He would then get to play with many of his idols like Chi Chi Rodriguez, Curtis Strange, and Lanny Wadkins.
The only difference between the two tours is that the main tour hears the music of Journey and Bruce Springsteen as they travel the course. Tim’s group, by contrast, would hear Kenny G, Frank Sinatra,Sarah Vaughn, and Duke Ellington.
