Turbulence

By Mike Hall, December 30, 2015

Skylar feels safe behind his bed.

Lately, his parents have seemed to argue nearly every day.

If he closes the door to his room, it’s not as loud.

His mom used to tell him bedtime stories but seems detached now.

Skylar wonders what it would be like to live in a peaceful home where laughter and love rule the day.

Until then, he kneels at night with hands folded by this same bed praying that tomorrow will be a better day.
