Sally and I were in New York waiting between shifts to watch some US OPEN tennis.
We took a seat on a bench and a friendly fella asked if he could join us.
He introduced himself as Don Grensted from California and said he was a tennis teaching professional.
In the course of our conversation, Sally mentioned that she was a big fan of Butch Walts who was in the men’s singles draw.
She basically told Don that she thought he was a hunk.
Mr. Grensted shocked Sally by saying he used to coach Butch…that he was practicing on a nearby court, and would she like to meet him.
Ten minutes later, a sweaty 6’4” Tom Cruise look a like was having his picture taken with his arms around Sally and cared little that he’d barely toweled off.
Certainly, that was the highlight of Sally’s trip and the picture was framed and featured prominently in our kitchen for 15 years.
