New York Life has a commercial on TV with the line ‘one look can change your life.’ Surely, a look can make you think….make you reconsider your take on things.
There are looks that go unnoticed when we move at the pace the world promotes these days. Yesterday, a very young cowboy had just ordered hot chocolate at Starbucks in Barnes and Noble.
There was a teenage girl sitting with a woman nearby. I noticed that the girl was upset and crying and the lady was consoling her with encouraging words.
As I turned to leave, I saw the pair standing up to leave and the young girl seemed to be better. Certainly, she was grateful that someone noticed and lifted her spirits.
May we all begin the school year with eyes that pay attention and hearts open to helping those in need.
I wonder if the attached picture will remind folks to look for ‘those looks.’
