Ok…this is Gary. Kind of looks like your basic Kiwanis Club member or maybe the kindly pharmacist at Kings Soopers.
His full name is Gary Michael Rose and today he was awarded The Congressional Medal of Honor for his gallantry during the Vietnam War.
The accounts of his bravery are incredible. Mr. Rose was a medic and is credited with saving at least sixty injured soldiers while sustaining bullet and shrapnel wounds of his own.
He felt that it was just his job and never once mentioned his heroics in the last forty years.
