Justin is a senior in high school and competes in football and track. He will be attending Arizona State University next fall. Ruth is his grandmother and lives alone in an assisted living center for seniors with dementia. The young man enjoys spending time with Ruth and knows he might not see her again once he leaves for college. It matters little to him that she can’t remember his name or birthday. He recalls the good times of his youth when she would make lasagna and garlic bread for the whole family. There are numerous seniors at the center who seem to have no one who visits them. As he gets up to leave, Justin gives Ruth a big hug and assures her that he’ll be back soon.
