Wynton Bernard became the most unlikely Colorado Rockies player in franchise history this Thursday.
After persevering through ten seasons and 863 minor league games, he got the call to report to The Big Show in Denver.
The fans treated him like royalty and he responded. In the seventh inning he got his first major league hit, stole second base, and scored a run to lead his new team to victory.
it was emotional watching the grateful Bernard being interviewed after the game and the heartfelt hugs by every one of his new teammates, coaches, and manager.
Welcome to Denver, Wynton. I’m sure you got a text or call from Russell Wilson to welcome and congratulate you too.
