About twice a week, an unsuspecting motorist is pulled to the curb near Arapahoe High School. One can only think that their minds are darting to the future and they don’t see the flashing yellow light and the 25 mph school zone sign. On a fishing trip to the Blue River years ago, my good friend Paul Rossi had a similar experience. He claimed that the timing of a passing truck obscured his view but the judge didn’t buy it. Three hundred dollars was the fine on that bright summer day. Maybe if the sign near AHS read, ‘School Zone….$300.00 Fine’ it would capture the attention of wandering minds.
