Petrified

Susan related a story after tennis class one day. She and her husband have a place near Kenosha Pass between Bailey and South Park, Colorado. A friend was taking her dogs for a walk when they startled a mother moose with calf ambling beyond the aspen trees. Moose are very protective and weigh around eleven hundred pounds.

Long story short…the mother moose became enraged and charged woman as her dogs fled in fear. The moose knocked the petrified lady into a culvert and tried to drown her by pressing on her with its snout.

The dog owner struggled to get free only to be shoved into the water again for round two. Fearing for her life she escaped once more.

Bam…again the moose sought to finish the job.

As a last resort, the exhausted woman played dead. The moose, now assured that the threat was over, left to find her calf.

The soaked to the bone…scared out of her wits…thankful to be alive woman left the scene of the crime and was thrilled to reunite with her dogs again.

A story her grandkids would be passing on to future generations.
