In response to a fan’s Facebook suggestion, a new tradition has begun. At the end of the first quarter at Hawkeye games, the 76,000 fans rise as one and wave to the children and their families.
Now, the band has even gotten involved. They form a huge hand on the field and do a wave to the kids.
It seems this is a tradition that will only grow stronger as the years go by.
