Don’t Be a Litterbug

By Mike Hall, March 31, 2018

Brad Gilbert was commentating on the women’s singles final from Miami between Sloane Stephens and Elena Ostapenko.

Late in the first set, he complimented Stephens for ‘not littering up the stat sheet.’

What a great line!

Sloane was serving for the set at 5-4 and engaged in some ‘littering’ herself with a double fault in the net and a wild forehand.

They are early in the tie break now. Ostapenko missed a backhand down the side and then sailed a forehand long to go down 2-4. The reigning US Open Champ held on to best the French Open winner and now on to the second set.

The takeaway…can the ultra aggressive Ostapenko (she’s like Sharapova on steroids) remain aggressive and not litter the stat sheet with errors.

Your takeaway…can you play your next match without littering the stat sheets?

Btw…Gilbert’s book is one of the best ever…highly recommended for developing match play smarts.
