What is a friend?
A single soul dwelling in two bodies.
Aristotle
We often think that our friends help us when we are weak. And the do. But it’s also true that we become strong when we have friends to be strong for. Friends help us flourish. They lighte our burdens, enlighten our thinking, enrich our lives. When we lose sight of our commitments, they remind us of them. When we falter, they help us stand. And we grow in resilience when we do the same for them, because the need to be strong for others often reveals untapped reserves of strength in ourselves.
