Foresight beats Hindsight

By Mike Hall, October 24, 2015

Julie had made a chicken dinner and the kids were ready to spend

some quality time with their dad at a nearby park called Grandpa’s Acres.

They were loading the car when Brad called to say that a business meeting

was going longer than planned and he would not be able to make it.

The kids were disappointed but Julie said they’d still go and fly the Halloween

kite she had purchased at K-Mart.  The three of them had the best time

as the slight breeze was perfect for flying their ‘scary’ kite.  Dinner was delicious

and the kids were excited when Julie asked if they wanted to go to Glacier Ice Cream

for dessert.  The sunset was amazing and mom decided to text a message and picture

to Brad.  “Wish you could have made it, honey……maybe next time.”

On a break, he opened the text and it hit him.

No one says that the next time is a sure thing.

The kids and their kite won’t be with us forever.

Was this meeting actually that important that I’d miss this sunset and the

chance for time with my family?
