There was a young cowboy who rediscovered the word countenance last week. He asked a friend what the meaning of the word is and she said it’s basically your disposition. The look you convey to the world and….just as important….the interior countenance you carry with you. Are you one of those fortunate ones who wakes up raring to go with an internal smile and a light in your eyes? Or, does your exterior countenance convey boredom or apprehension? In a former life, there was a fella at work who, for a period of five years, never smiled to my memory. The question could be asked if this was a decision he made each day or did God just short change him in the zest for life/countenance area? The look was such that life seemed to be a daily drag instead of an adventure. May you rise tomorrow with a light in your eyes, and song in your heart, and the commitment to treat the day as an unrepeatable miracle. Why be a yawner…..it could be the last day you have.
