The song birds were singing this morning at 5:30
and the bus will arrive again at 8:09
to pick up the children for school
Yesterday, people played tennis…
walked their dogs, and attended church
Neighbors stood on the sidewalk and
consoled each other over the tragic events of last Monday
Surely every single person feels
wounded and walks with a heavy heart today
It is hard and there are no answere to
the questions of ‘why,’ and ‘how on earth
could this happen’
At ten this morning, a great man will
be celebrated and mourned by hundreds
of people whose lives he touched
Ken will rightfully be eulogized as
a kind and faithful man and a hero
who gave his life trying to save a friend’s
Tomorrow, the birds will awaken us again
and the bus will be there once more
We will move on but no one will forget

to heal and cause smiles to return to all who
