Ryan is frequently sabotaged by feelings and moods that are like a storm cloud hovering overhead. He has few friends and parents who can’t afford to get him the help he needs. Ryan is one of the at risk kids who lives day to day just hoping someone will notice the despair that envelops him. Long walks in the country seem to be the only thing that helps this seventh grader cope. Alone, he tries to come to grips with the feelings of alienation that hound him daily.
