A Songbird’s Dream

By Mike Hall, January 15, 2016

In the early morning hour
With the warmth the sunlight brings
Awakes the tiny songbird
With a song he has to sing

For while he slept in peaceful slumber
He dreamt a dream so fair
And now there is nothing more important
Than this dream he has to share

So perched high upon a treetop
Before all that he beholds
He sings aloud, this song he has
In words an angel knows

And what is this song of wonder
That he awoke today to sing ?
Well …
It seems a child of God he knew
Received their set of wings
