We were a group of fun loving college boys who needed a break from finals week. In Grand Junction, Colorado, there is a canal filled with wake you up cold water that is dwarfed by cliffs as high as sixty-five feet. On a warm day in May, I took a deep breath, said a quick prayer, and jumped thirty-five feet to the water below. Exhilarating and a terrific getaway from the pressure of school. Later that week, friends reported that Bobby Sessions jumped from the other cliff nearly two times higher than ours.
Sometimes you just gotta give it a go and live with gusto. At the same time, discretion can be the better part of valor.
